I am not often taking time to study after great master's painting. Though there is much to learn in studying somebody's else work I find it very impressive, first because I do not have an academic training . But I was really caught by the different grays of Hopper's staircase, and it was really in painting them that I realized how suble they were, and so difficult to get, I particularly love Hopper's parisian paintings. I used a  limited palette of yellow ochre, earth red and black plus lemon yellow
